Public Hearing announced for Providence Heights
The Issaquah Landmarks Commission will hold a public hearing to review the Providence Heights College of Sister Formation nomination for designation as a City of Issaquah landmark at Issaquah City Hall

The King County Historic Preservation Office publicly announced today that it has recieved a complete application to nominate Providence Heights College as a City of Issaquah landmark. Issaquah Landmarks Commission will hold a public hearing to review the Providence Heights College of Sister Formation nomination for designation as a City of Issaquah landmark on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at 5:00 pm, at Issaquah City Hall.

At the close of the hearing the Commission will either make a final decision on the nomination or issue a preliminary determination of significance and continue the public hearing to another time. The certificate of appropriateness procedure (IMC 18.20.050) will apply if the Commission designates the property as a landmark or if it makes a preliminary determination of significance. Under the provisions of this section no significant feature may be changed without first obtaining a certificate of appropriateness from the Landmarks Commission.

The purpose of the hearing is for the Commission to hear public testimony to assist in determining whether the property meets landmark designation criteria. All proceedings to review the action of the Commission will be based on the record made at the hearing and no further right to present evidence on the issue of a preliminary determination or designation will be afforded.

All proceedings to review the Landmarks Commission’s action at the hearing on a preliminary determination or a designation will be based on the record at this hearing. No further right to present evidence on the issue of preliminary determination or designation is afforded pursuant to Issaquah Municipal Code 18.20.
