BOLA Architecture + Planning
BOLA believes in creativity, collaboration, and conservation. We hold that the past and the future are not incompatible. Rather, they mutually reinforce the present.
We work best in strong partnerships with clients, owners, occupants, and builders, finding that collaboration leads to richer, more responsive project results. Our firm, led by architects Susan Boyle and Rhoda Lawrence, offers a range of preservation planning and design services: landmark nominations; SEPA and Section 106; historic surveys; condition assessments and feasibility studies; complex adaptive use rehabilitations and restorations; and assistance with financial incentives and funding for historic preservation, including federal tax credit projects.
BOLA’s past work has received awards from the AIA, the Washington and National Trusts for Historic Preservation, and the State of Washington. The satisfaction and appreciation of our clients and building occupants speak directly about our success.
