Explore downtown Prosser

Historic downtown Prosser is the thriving heart of the community, home to delicious restaurants, shopping, galleries, coffee shops, and more. And, of course, no visit to Prosser would be complete without a sample of the region’s fantastic wines and beers: “Our community is filled with award winning winemakers taking full advantage of the bounty in our area and we as residents reap the benefits of their talents!” says Historic Downtown Prosser Association Executive Director Jesalyn Cole. Learn more about where to eat, drink, and be merry in downtown Prosser.

Historic driving tour from Pasco to Yakima

Learn more about the history of Southeast Washington, crossing an arid district to visit towns such as Pasco, Kennewick, Prosser, Sunnyside, and Yakima. Born of the coming of the railroads in the 1880s, these towns grew into rich agricultural centers after the introduction of irrigation at the turn of the century. Take this two-hour, 97-mile driving tour from Pasco to Yakima (or vice versa!) with 20+ points of interest, historical context and photos, and optional side trips.

Prosser’s historic points of interest

The seat of Benton County, Prosser has a long and rich history. Once an important Native American camp for salmon runs, Prosser has been dubbed the “birthplace of Washington’s wine industry.” Learn more about Prosser’s past, and historical points of interest, such as the Prosser Flouring Mill and Benton County Courthouse.

Nearby Main Street Community: Kennewick

The Historic Downtown Kennewick Partnership has been making. it. happen. in one of the Tri-Cities’ historic neighborhood districts. New business owners have been building upon the momentum and investing in their buildings. And, like Prosser, Kennewick recently completed a major place activation initiative, piloting Avenue Square – a public square and food truck hub – in the heart of downtown.

Nearby Main Street Community: Pasco

Home to the Fiery Foods Festival, a popular farmers market, a commercial kitchen with an entrepreneurship incubator mission, and dozens of small businesses, downtown Pasco is a Main Street district worth visiting. Check out the Downtown Pasco Development Authority to learn more about this rich community.

Nearby Main Street Community: Yakima

If we didn’t already have you at “The Hops Capital of the World,” could we interest you in a little big city with a lot of heart?
