Hennebery Eddy Architects
Hennebery Eddy Architects is a Portland-based firm driven by the values of the Pacific Northwest: simplicity, efficiency, and beauty. Our portfolio is characterized by well-crafted, thoughtfully detailed designs that respect their sites, strengthen their context, and inspire excellence. Rooted in a long-term perspective, our design philosophy strives to contribute to the community, be economically viable, foster environmental responsibility, and establish a sense of place — today, and in 20, 50, or 100 years.
Since 1992, we have assisted clients in creating projects with a high level of clarity of mission, craftsmanship, and architectural strength, and our team has steadily grown to a staff of 65. We aspire to design net-positive solutions through healthy, efficient, and adaptive spaces that are responsive to our clients, the environment, and the people who use them. In 2018, Hennebery Eddy was honored as the AIA Northwest & Pacific Region firm of the year and was named one of the top 50 architecture firms in the country by Architect magazine.
Our Historic Resources Group comprises several in-house experts in the preservation, restoration, and rehabilitation of historic places — from iconic landmarks to modest vernacular structures — using an in-house preservation library and conservation laboratory. Our historical architects exceed the U.S. Secretary of the Interior’s Historic Preservation Professional qualifications standards. We invest substantial time and resources into the latest tools, technology, and practices for accommodating the inevitable change in buildings — while recognizing that such change can be incorporated in a way that retains historic and cultural integrity.
