Seattle Historic Waterfront Grant application now available
Grant funding available!
The Washington Trust is pleased to announce the release of the Seattle Historic Waterfront Grant application! This one-time grant opportunity will support either seismic retrofit planning or facade improvements for historic buildings along Seattle’s waterfront. Applicants may apply for up to $25,000 in grant funding and must match at least 50% of their request with their own cash or in-kind contributions to the project. Grant applications will be due on October 21, 2020.
Where are these funds coming from?
This one-time grant program is funded by mitigation money set aside as a result of the need to replace the historic Alaskan Way Seawall which was built in 1934. The seawall was in danger of collapse in the event of a major earthquake and was replaced in 2017 in conjunction with the Alaskan Way Viaduct removal.
Where can I learn more?
The Washington Trust will be hosting a virtual grant workshop on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 from 12:00-1:00pm to explain the grant requirements, go over the application document, and answer questions. For more information about the grant (including a map of the grant boundary area), to download a copy of the application, or to register for the workshop, please visit:
