Preservation is Local
The Valerie Sivinski Fund is an annual grant program that provides grants up to $4,000 to organizations and community groups engaged in historic preservation around our state. Awards are given in the name of longtime and beloved board member of the Washington Trust Valerie Sivinski. The grant program truly embodies the mission of the Washington Trust by supporting historic preservation where it really happens: at the community level.
Sivinski grant requests must be centered on a specific historic or cultural place. Grant funds may be used for direct preservation/rehabilitation projects or for planning, research, education, and advocacy projects that raise support for a historic or cultural place related to the histories of marginalized or underrepresented communities.
The 2021 Sivinski Award winners were announced at the Washington Trust’s annual Sivinski Holiday Benefit on December 15.
We are now accepting applications for 2022 Sivinski Grants until
Sunday – October 24, 2021 at 11:59PM PDT.
